Signs of Ovulation – Discover Natural Ways to Regulate Ovulation and Fertility
More and more women these days are turning to alternative means of regulating their ovulation and fertility. The reason for this acceptance has greatly contributed to the low cost and effectiveness of using this method. The practice of using herbs to help them has been going on for thousands of years. It’s only now that western countries are seeing the practicability -monetary wise that is- of this method.
There are thousands of herbal supplements that can help regulate ovulation and fertility. Sadly, it would take me a long time to write everything down. Chaste Tree Berry (Vitex) – Used both as a supplement for PMS and fertility, this herb helps promote ovulation and helps in the release of LH. Aside from being known to restore or regulate periods, this herb helps bring on your ovulation period sooner. This herbal supplement can be purchased as a tablet, tincture, or in its dried berry form. Known side effects are headache, upset stomach and nausea.
Dong Quai – This herb is well known for its use in many gynecological problems. Aside from helping menopausal and endometriosis conditions, this herb has been proven to help balance estrogen activity. Being a blood purifier, Dong Quai helps promote circulation and restores menstrual regularity. It also helps regulate both a weak uterus and hormones. Take note that this is not recommended for women who are already pregnant or for those who are taking blood thinners or have clotting disorders. People with diabetes should not take this supplement.
Licorice – For women who have infrequent periods, the use of licorice is advised. It also helps women with low estrogen levels and high levels of testosterone. These are two common characteristics of PCOS. The taker of this herbal supplement should use this with caution if you have a history of severe menstrual problem, heart disease, edema, diabetes, kidney disease, high blood pressure, glaucoma and have experienced stroke. When using this supplement, the blood pressure should be monitored and the intake of potassium should be increased.
Siberian Ginseng – This herb not only helps improve overall vitality and health, but also regulates reproductive hormones. Siberian ginseng can interfere though with the absorption of Vitamin C. People who are under antiplatelet or anticoagulant therapy or those with Diabetes Mellitus should not take this supplement.
Wild Yam – This herb has a high level of natural progesterone and can help increase the production of progesterone in women. Women who are already pregnant and nursing should not take this supplement. Wild yam should be used during the phase where progesterone is needed for implantation to happen and maintained. This is during the second half of your phase. In rare cases, the taker may have allergic reactions which include difficulty in breathing and swelling.
These are just a few of the herbal supplements that can help a woman regulate her ovulation and fertility. Again, you must take note of the side effects that may or can happen by ingesting these supplements and should be used with the same care as prescribed prescriptions.
