These are wonderful tests and a financial God-send. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which means I normally don’t ovulate – hence becoming pregnant is difficult. Having the information from these strips was great for our “trying to conceive” journey, both for us and for our doctor. But also, having to use these for more than 9 months before we finally did conceive, the difference in cost between these and what is available in stores was wonderful. I knew we were in this for the long haul, and I’m so glad I found these strips before we actually began to try.

I admit, I did wonder whether they actually worked or not. But after three months of metformin (glucophage), my body regulated and ovulated, and these tests detected it. There was no question – I had a positive test. And two weeks later, a positive pregnancy test. I absolutely recommend these strips. I ovulated on day 25 – much later than you’d usually think ovulation would happen. Thanks to these tests, I knew.
No, they don’t come in frilly packaging. And yes, I was shocked at first at how it just came in a manila envelope, no instructions. But the tests are individually packaged and sterile. Paying for the frills just isn’t worth it to me – I’d rather save that money to buy the baby something! Plus, I prefer the “pee in a cup and dip” method to the midstream tests – somehow I managed to complete nine months of never peeing on myself while peeing in a cup, but when I try one of those midstream things, it goes everywhere.[...]

I just received my order. The strips are individually packaged in sealed foiled packages. The plastic wrap is only used to hold together the sealed packages, not the individual strips. The strips are tiny, slightly larger than a matchstick. Keep in mind that these are dipping strips, not mid-stream strips, so you’ll need a cup to capture your urine.

For the first few months we were trying to conceive I spent an estimated 0 plus dollars on store-bought HPTs (home pregnancy tests) & OPKs (Ovulation Prediction Kits)…then an 8 month pregnant friend told me she had used the test strip cheapies for both so I have switched over. To ensure I didn’t miss my fertile period by using a cheaper product for the first month I used 2 different brands of store bought OPKs plus the cheap OPK test strips and compared the performance of all three (on every day of testing). It worked perfectly (and was actually more sensitive than one of the expensive store brands) so I would absolutely recommend anyone wondering if they should switch over to do so immediately!

For the HPT the same rule applies (regarding placement of the Control Line)..and remember a faint test line is a positive! And don’t read the results after 5-10 minutes (no matter how tempting it may be!).

I think those who have trouble seeing this aren’t using it properly. Be sure you remove the entire lense (the WHOLE black piece) without unscrewing it. Just pull it straight out. When it is removed properly, you will be able to see the empty container and the little green light inside. The saliva goes on the flat, uncupped, interior end closest to the light. To clean, just run the lense piece under warm water and let air dry until next use. You can check for lint or water residue by holding it up to a regular light.

On Day 1 of my cycle, I ordered via Amazon.com these ovulation
On Day 1 of my cycle, I ordered via Amazon.com these ovulationpreditors. My start test date, Day 10, came upon me without
my strips from sender. I bought a box of Clear Blue to hold me over until the product came. It came on Day 11 (figures, right!!)–all taped together, no box, no instructions. No note saying go to website! I had to read Amazon reviews to learn about website. I began using them as instructed on website. I tested the same time of day, within the recommended hours and have checked that the test dates are still well before expiration date. Having done all that, I tested all the way through Day 18 and these test strips are showing that I still haven’t ovulated. Since I had extra Clear Blue tests, I also tested with one of them on Day 14 and it showed a positive result on Day 15. I thought something was up with this product so I sent one to another internet company. They told me that the levels of hormone tested are 1/2 of what they should be. These did not work AT ALL FOR ME!! If you try them, make sure you have a back up test just in case…it would be sad to have to wait another month to try to have a baby because of a bad test.
