3 Common Signs Of Ovulation Every Woman Should Know
There are of course many signs of ovulation. In fact, these signs can be largely dependent on the woman’s physique, internal construction and even mood. Some signs of ovulation can be quite unique to the person too. A very good example of this would be a heightened sense of smell or even better hearing – both of which can drive a woman to become easily irritated to the things around her. There are those who often mistake this state as the infamous female mood swing. But the truth is: such a scenario is actually the body’s way of subconsciously alerting the woman of her sexual fertility and her upcoming egg release. Lucky us!
For the purpose of discussion though, let’s try to focus on the 3 most common yet easily distinguishable physical signs of ovulation that can signify when the right time to conceive is:
The first sign on the list would be a ravenous appetite. This could be applied to both food and sex. A woman can crave for sweet or salty food at the height of her fertility stage. This is about one or two days prior to her actual ovulation period. Some women seek out specific, sometimes hard to find food items or drinks; while there are those who are not picky – they will happily munch their way through whatever type of food is in their path. At the same time, there are those who experience an increased sex drive. This should not be confused with insatiability, because ovulating women do feel the need to control their sexual urges when the moment calls for it. However, there is that urgent and intuitive feeling to do the deed. This state is called sexual receptivity.
The second sign is more discreet, and usually only you would notice it. Prior and during the ovulation period, the cervix (the neck of the uterus) begins to secrete a mucus like substance in anticipation of possible egg cell fertilization. This mucus substance is quite thick and almost egg white in consistency. It is also expelled when you urinate. If you notice an increase in vaginal fluid and you are not sexually stimulated in any way then there is a good chance that you are ovulating.
And lastly, there are studies that show that during a women’s fertile period she will subconsciously try to improve her physical attractiveness so if you find yourself uncharacteristically primping in front of a mirror – here is your sign.
These three signs are subtile but if you pay attention to the signals your body gives off you will have a greater chance of conceiving.
